Android training was first made available on YouTube in 2015 and later grew into one of the largest YouTube channels for Android engineers with more than 40,000 subscribers and millions of views. Since the beginning the videos were always free everywhere, and viewers throughout the world watched me build apps live through recorded tutorials.
Viewers consistently asked for more videos on a growing list of topics, even if courses were paid.
Today all videos are still available on YouTube but will soon be available for watching and downloading through this website. And in addition to all videos that are already free, new videos and software training will be provided as a paid professional service through Malone Software Consulting LLC.
YouTube was chosen as a platform because it had the most accessible worldwide distribution. Even though I live here in the United States, my country isn’t even the top country of origin. (The list includes Germany, India, The United Kingdom, the Philippines.) And while YouTube was an easy way to share, I never liked the gimmicks of using a free video sharing service from an ad giant.
But now in 2023 there are many easy ways to share large libraries of videos so that everyone can watch, download and learn.
Below are some behind the scenes photos, including my microphone setup from the channel’s earlier days.
